Language : The official language is Bangla. English is widely spoken.

Currency : The local unit is Taka. Dollar and other major currencies can easily be converted into local currency in almost all the cities. Credit cards are widely accepted especially in big hotels, travel offices and shopping centers.

Best Season to Visit : To visit Bangladesh October to March is the best season, when the sun is mild and pleasant. "The Monsoon" (June to August) also has its own charms and is good for a brief and unique visit. The country has mainly four seasons, the Winter (Dec-Feb.), Summer (Mar-May), Monsoon (Jun-Sept) and Autumn (Oct-Nov.). The rainless winter is the most pleasant season when average temperature ranges from 120C to 260C. In rare cases the temperature falls to less than 80C but never touches the freezing point.  
 

Communication : Good roads, railways and waterways connect the capital city Dhaka with all the cities, towns and tourist destinations of the country. All the importandt cities are under a network of internal air traffic.

Accomodation : There are a good number of hotels in the big cities. These include several five-star, four-star and three-star hotels of international standards.
